“We have quality in every position, and that’s why we are delivering performances like these.” DAC’s attacking gem scored a goal and provided an assist in Banská Bystrica. He now has nine goals and nine assists in the Niké Liga, topping the league’s scoring contribution chart and sharing first place in the goalscoring standings with Matej Trusa.

Ammar Ramadan enjoyed another excellent outing. In DAC’s 2-0 victory away to Banská Bystrica, he first delivered a precise cross for Klemen Nemanič to score in the 34th minute before finding the net himself in stoppage time. The result secured DAC’s eleventh league victory of the season.

After 13 rounds, Ramadan has nine goals and nine assists to his name. With 18 points, he leads the Niké Liga’s scoring contribution chart by a considerable margin. Our own Matej Trusa and Žilina’s Michal Faško are joint second on 12 points. Ramadan’s nine goals also put him level with Trusa at the top of the league’s goalscoring standings. “It’s incredible. Sometimes you can miss further chances after scoring a goal, while on other occasions you might not score at all. I’m happy that I’m scoring goals, setting them up and helping the team maintain its good form,” Ramadan said after the final whistle of yesterday’s match.

We have played four matches over the past two weeks, three of them away from home. “Winning matches like these isn’t easy, especially when you alternate between playing at home and away. We can feel the fatigue, and we also have a few injuries, but we showed our character on the pitch.”

In Banská Bystrica, DAC once again benefited from a solid defensive display, recording our eighth clean sheet of the league campaign. “We have excellent defenders who start the matches, but we also have quality players on the bench. The same applies to every position. I think we have a complete squad, and that’s why we are delivering performances like these. You can’t win every match with one, two or even five good players. What matters is that we play as a team. It doesn’t matter who scores or who makes a goal-saving intervention. We all see things the same way.”

As the victories keep coming, the team’s and the players’ confidence continues to grow. The performances of DAC’s 25-year-old Syrian attacking gem, who is enjoying the best season of his career, are further proof of that. “We feel great, both as a team and as individuals. We can bring that energy onto the pitch and make the most of it in matches. The coaching staff are also doing an excellent job. I think we understand each other well, and that’s fantastic. Every club would want to have this kind of atmosphere and these bonds between players. I think we are in really good form at the moment. However, we have to keep taking it one match at a time, because the games ahead will become increasingly difficult,” added Ammar Ramadan, who has scored 38 goals and ranks fourth among the top-flight scorers in our club’s history. He is now just two goals short of third-placed Mikuláš Radványi.
